The announcement was delivered by Fiacre Adopo, Adviser to the Minister of Budget, who represented the Ivorian Government during a workshop on tackling corruption, illegal trade and other forms of illicit financial flows (IFF), hosted by the African Development Bank (AfDB).
The AfDB has reiterated during the two-day workshop in Abidjan the critical importance of cutting the channels of IFFs, a key to unlocking the continent’s development potential.

26-Oct-2016 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Korean Ministry of Strategy and Finance have signed an Exchange of Letters announcing Korea’s replenishment of a grant of USD 18 million to the KOAFEC Trust Fund for the year 2017-2018.
The KOAFEC Trust Fund is AfDB’s largest bilateral fund. Under the agreement, Korea will support the Bank’s strategic priority areas, commonly known as the “High Fives”, which seek to address the socio-economic challenges in Africa. 26-Oct-2016 - On Tuesday, October 25, 2016, the African Development Bank approved a US $25-million loan for a multinational project to establish a safety-of-life communications systems for Lake Victoria. The largest lake in Africa accommodates a fleet of 70,000 vessels, mostly individual fishermen, but lacks any alert or rescue systems. Consequently as many as 5,000 people die in the lake each year.

26-Oct-2016 - On October 25 at the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Council meeting, the GEF approved the funding of USD 6.3 million for a regional project co-financed with the African Development Bank (AfDB). Funded by the International Waters (IW) window of the GEF, the project aims to strengthen transboundary cooperation and integrated natural resources management in the Songwe River Basin, shared by the countries of Malawi and Tanzania.
