Advans Cameroon is a microfinance institution (MFI) started in 2007 in Cameroon with increasing focus on SMEs given the potential market opportunities. Advans Cameroon had 38,000 entrepreneurs and individual borrowers (men and women) as clients as of end-2013.

22-Sep-2014 - Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire – The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) on Friday, 19 September 2014 approved a US$ 29.36 million budget support grant to finance the first phase of Mozambique’s Economic Governance and Inclusive Growth Program (EGIGP). The EGIGP is the first of three consecutive programmatic general budget support operations covering fiscal years 2014, 2015, and 2016, with a total indicative financing envelope of US$59.73 million.

Benin - AfDB approves US$ 58.50 million for Parakou Urban Transport Project

22-Sep-2014 - Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire – The Republic of Benin will receive a combined loan and grant amounting to US$ 58.50 million to help finance the Parakou Urban Transport Project, approved by executive directors of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) on 19 September 2014 in Abidjan. The project involves the rehabilitation and widening of 17.55 kilometers of main roads in the city to double lanes in order to increase urban mobility, reduce accidents as well as improve the peoples’ living conditions.

Climate change: AfDB continues to show strong leadership in financing low carbon development in Africa

19-Sep-2014 - Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, 19 September - Six leading Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) provided in 2013 about USD 24 billion worldwide in financing for projects in developing and emerging economies that address the challenges of climate change according to the third annual joint MDB report on climate finance. The report, released on 19 September demonstrates the shared engagement expressed by the six MDBs last week to reinforce transparency of their financing in climate change mitigation and adaptation.
