30-Nov-2009 - Tunis, 25 November 2009 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) approved a Line of Credit of USD 30 million to the African Banking Corporation Holdings Ltd (ABCH) under AfDB’s Liquidity Facility window. The proposed Line of Credit will feature a 5 year tenor and a 2-year grace period and will benefit ABCH’s banking subsidiaries in Botswana, Mozambique, Tanzania and Zimbabwe and contribute towards financing the ABCH’s pipeline projects totaling USD 96 million.

The programme will sustain economic growth and employment against the backdrop of the ongoing global recession, while not losing momentum on long-term reforms needed to make Mauritius more competitive.
25-Nov-2009 - Tunis, November 25, 2009 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) approved a senior loan of up to Euros 55 million to finance the Sendou Power Project in Senegal. The Bank is mandated to arrange a total senior debt of up to EUR 117 million. The senior debt will have maturities of up to fourteen years including a grace period of two years.

The support to the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia comes from the Fragile States Facility (FSF) administrated by the Bank’s Fragile States Unit.
19-Nov-2009 - Tunis, 17 November 2009 – The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the AfDB Group approved in Tunis on Tuesday, 17 November 2009, combined loans and grants worth USD 8.15 million to finance a multinational Railway Project Study in Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi.
The second phase of the Dar es Salaam-Isaka-Kigali/Keza-Musongati Railway project study will cover the existing 970-km Dar es Salaam-Isaka railway link and its extensions.
11-Nov-2009 - Tunis, 17 November 2009 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF) approved on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 in Tunis, a UA 10.21 million (USD 16.23 million) loan to finance a Rural Income and Employment Enhancement Project (RIEEP) in Uganda.
The objective of the project is to help reduce rural poverty in Uganda by facilitating access to and utilization of affordable financial and business development services for an estimated 1.4 million rural poor in the country’s districts.

The project addresses the water supply and sanitation problems in a number of small towns and the provision of water storage in Yatta area.
