La BAD octroie 30 milliards de FCFA au Cameroun pour un projet de fibre optique en Afrique centrale

02-Nov-2015 - La Banque africaine de développement (BAD) et le Cameroun ont signé, le jeudi 29 octobre 2015 à Yaoundé, un accorde prêt de 46,301 millions d’euros, soit plus de 30 milliards de francs CFA destiné au projet Dorsale à fibre optique d’Afrique centrale (en anglais, Central African Backbone).  La Banque contribue au financement du projet à travers un prêt sur le guichet BAD de 37,304 millions d’euros et un don du Fonds pour l’environnement mondial (FEM) de 1,726 millions de dollars EU. La contrepartie  camerounaise est de 7,427 millions d’euros.

AfDB issues 0.75% US$ 1 billion global benchmark due 3 November 2017

30-Oct-2015 - On Tuesday, October 27, 2015, the African Development Bank (AfDB) successfully launched and priced a new 1 billion 2-year US dollar global benchmark due November 3, 2017. This is the AfDB’s second US dollar global benchmark of the year following a successful 5-year benchmark transaction executed in February, and its first 2-year global benchmark since 2009. The 2-year benchmark transaction was announced on Monday, October 26th at 1:30 p.m. London time with initial pricing thoughts in the area of mid-swaps +12 basis points area.

Finance Ministers affirm commercial borrowing possible to fund agriculture transformation

23-Oct-2015 - African countries could borrow money internationally to invest in commercial agriculture to spread the range of manufactured products available within their economies and lead to an agricultural transformation, Ministers of Finance at the Feeding Africa Conference in Dakar affirmed Friday. Zambia’s Deputy Minister of Finance, Christopher Mvunga, said money borrowed commercially from the international financial markets could be spent on modernizing agricultural infrastructure.
