Senegal: AfDB approves US$ 33.5 Million to promote youth and women employment

25-Oct-2013 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group) on Wednesday, 23 October 2013 in Tunis, approved a loan amounting to US$ 33.5 for Senegal to help the country finance the Project to Support the Promotion of Employment for Youth and Women (PAPEJF).

Farmers in Cameroon to benefit from US$25.70 million for AfDB rural infrastructure and development support project

24-Oct-2013 - Farmers in the North-Western region of  Cameroon will benefit from a loan and a grant amounting to US$25.70 million (UA 16,800 million) approved by the African Development Bank’s Board of Directors to help finance the Grassfield Rural Infrastructure and Participatory Development Support Project, Phase II The Project aims to improve agricultural production and incomes of beneficiary communities by creating rural infrastructure and building capacity. AfDB supports SMEs in Africa with a US $12.5 Million Equity Investment in Kibo Fund II

Mali to Receive US $75.5 Million Soft Loan to Finance a Drinking Water Supply Project in Bamako

10-Oct-2013 - The African Development Bank Group approved on Wednesday, October 9 a US $75.5 million (UA 50 million) soft loan for Mali to help the country finance a drinking water supply project in Bamako. The project aims to produce an additional 144, 000 cubic metres of drinking water per day from Kabala locality to be supplied to the capital, Bamako. This volume of water represents 68% of current production. Bamako’s current rate of access to drinking water is estimated at 36%.

Burkina Faso Receives US $50.66 Million Grant for Drainage of Ouagadougou Districts

10-Oct-2013 - Burkina Faso will receive a US $50.66 million (UA 33.02 million) grant to finance a drainage and solid waste management project in the outlying districts of Ouagadougou. The sub-project was approved by the African Development Bank Group on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 in Tunis. Based on studies conducted by the African Water Facility in 2012, the sub-project aims to tackle drainage and solid waste management issues, and constitutes the backbone of all future operations in the sector.
