10-Nov-2016 - The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the Power Africa initiative, reaffirmed its commitment to the African Development Bank-led Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa (SEFA) initiative with a second tranche of funding of US $11 million towards fulfilling its overall commitment of US $20 million. The signing ceremony took place after the Power Africa Panel on Off-Grid Finance, within the precincts of the U.S.

09-Nov-2016 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 approved US $391 million to help finance a major water and sanitation program in Kenya. The Kenya Towns Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation Program is designed to improve access, quality, availability and sustainability of water supply in 19 towns and wastewater management services in 17 towns across the country.

AfDB hosts high-level workshop to operationalise Bank’s knowledge product on road safety

09-Nov-2016 - The African Development Bank hosted a two-day high-level regional road safety workshop in Abidjan recently to bring together top managements of road authorities and development partners to share and operationalize three road safety manuals recently prepared by the Bank. During his opening speech, Amadou Oumarou, Director of the Bank’s Transport and ICT Department, said addressing road safety is crucial in Africa, which experiences the highest rates of road fatalities in the world, impacting negatively people’s life and economic development.

180 millions d’euros de la BAD pour réduire les disparités sociales dans 16 gouvernorats tunisiens

02-Nov-2016 - Le Conseil d’administration du Groupe de la Banque africaine de développement (BAD) a approuvé un prêt de 180 millions d’euros, destiné à la réduction des disparités régionales en Tunisie. Ce prêt, qui constitue la première phase d’un appui budgétaire programmatique, entre dans le cadre du Programme d’appui au développement régional inclusif (PADRI). Il permettra de stimuler le développement régional dans 16 gouvernorats prioritaires à travers la relance de l’investissement, l’inclusion sociale et la promotion de la gouvernance locale.
