23-Jun-2015 - The Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa (SEFA) has approved on June 9 a USD 1 million grant to launch the first phase of a Green Mini-Grids (GMG) Market Development Program (MDP) which will be implemented by the SE4ALL Africa Hub in coordination with SE4ALL’s Clean Energy Mini-Grid High Impact Opportunity stakeholder group. The program aims to remove or reduce market barriers at regional scale and strengthen the ecosystem for the emergence of a thriving GMG sector in Sub-Saharan Africa.

18-Jun-2015 - The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) has extended its multimillion multi-phased Horn of Africa drought resilience programme with a US $16-million soft loan to Djibouti and a US $14-million grant to Sudan.
The African Development Fund (ADF) loan and grant were approved by the AfDB Group’s Board on Wednesday, June 17 in Abidjan, to finance phase three of the Drought Resilience and sustainable Livelihoods Programme in the Horn of Africa (DRSLP III) in the two countries.
18-Jun-2015 - The President of the International University of Grand-Bassam (IUGB), Saliou Touré, accompanied by his close aides, and senior politicians and officials from Grand-Bassam, presented the "Donald Kaberuka Auditorium" in honour of the outgoing African Development Bank President.
The event took place during a courtesy visit by Kaberuka to IUGB on June 18, 2015, located in Grand-Bassam, a town some 30 kilometres to the south of Abidjan, when he took the opportunity to visit the campus and meet with officials and students.

He also said that a major contributor to the exorbitant cost and protracted nature of many African energy projects in Africa is inefficiency at the negotiating table caused by the fact that investors and government are not consistently speaking the same language or the lack of quality advice during negotiations of transactions.
