Gouvernance économique : la BAD accorde un prêt de 20 millions d’euros au Cap-Vert

07-Nov-2017 - Le Groupe de la Banque africaine de développement (BAD) et le gouvernement du Cap Vert ont signé, lundi 6 novembre 2017 à Abidjan, un accord de prêt de 20 millions d’euros destiné à  renforcer l’économie du pays, à travers la mise en œuvre du Programme d’appui à la croissance économique (PACE II).

La BAD avait déjà financé la première phase de ce programme en 2016.

AfDB partners with Purdue University to make technologies available to African farmers

02-Nov-2017 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) and Purdue University in the United States have agreed to work together to make technologies available to millions of farmers in Africa. One of the projects in the partnership is a two-day conference to scale up agricultural technologies in developing countries, to be held at the Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, from September 25-27, 2018.

Africa50 Reaches Financial Close for Solar Plants in Egypt

27-Oct-2017 - Africa50, the infrastructure fund for Africa, Scatec Solar and Norfund have signed the long-term financing documentation for the 400 MWDC utility scale photovoltaic (PV) power plants in Egypt for which they had previously entered into a Joint Development Agreement (JDA). The project, which was developed under the second round of the Egyptian Feed-in Tariff Program, reached financial close on October 27.

AfDB Approves US$ 3 million Line of Credit to Union Trust Bank Sierra Leone

26-Oct-2017 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved a line of credit (LOC) of US$ 3 million (synthetic local currency equivalent) to Union Trust Bank Sierra Leone (UTB) to help finance projects and enterprises in transformational sectors such as agriculture, energy, manufacturing and services, with strong emphasis on women-owned businesses. UTB is the only indigenous private bank in Sierra Leone and an important provider of finance for indigenous micro, small and medium- sized enterprises.

AfDB approves US$ 100 million Line of Credit to Kenya Commercial Bank

25-Oct-2017 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) today approved a US$ 100 million Line of Credit (LOC) to Kenya Commercial Bank Limited (KCB).   The line of credit  resources will provide much-needed liquidity support for the development of infrastructure and energy projects as well as support value-addition in manufacturing and providing the youth. The project is therefore an important contribution towards enhancing job creation as well as facilitating financial access to businesses.

Adesina receives American university’s highest honour, the ‘Order of the Griffin’

Tunisie : la BAD octroie 38,6 millions € pour développer les chaines de valeur agricoles

25-Oct-2017 - Le Conseil d’administration du Groupe de la Banque africaine de développement (BAD) a donné son accord pour l’octroi à la Tunisie de deux prêts totalisant 38,626 millions d’euros. Ces prêts, dont l’un est octroyé via l’Africa Growing Together Fund (AGTF), sont destinés à financer le Projet de valorisation des périmètres irrigués et le développement des chaines de valeur agricoles en Tunisie.
