26-Apr-2017 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) has approved the Bank’s Angola Country Strategy Paper (CSP) to guide its interventions in the country in the next five years, focusing on Inclusive growth through agricultural transformation and supporting sustainable infrastructure development.
The 2017-2021 strategy aims to tackle the challenges facing the country by accelerating economic diversification and enhancing structural transformation to achieve broad-based economic growth and poverty reduction.

13-Apr-2017 - The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) has approved a US $18.15 million facility to the Government of South Sudan (GRSS), to assist the country with the required resources for its African Trade Insurance (ATI) and Trade & Development Bank (TDB) (formerly known as PTA Bank) membership application. This is a critical step and a prerequisite for the respective institutions to commence their operations within South Sudan.
13-Apr-2017 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) approved an African Development Fund (ADF) supplementary loan of US $14.57 million to rehabilitate and expand the distribution networks in Juba, South Sudan.
The Power distribution system rehabilitation and expansion project aims at strengthening the distribution networks in Juba to provide reliable electricity supply from existing and future generation facilities and thus satisfy the suppressed load and demand growth in the city.
12-Apr-2017 - The African Development Bank Group announced today the departure of Dr. Frannie A. Léautier, its Senior Vice-President. Dr. Léautier’s decision to move on was for personal family reasons.
The President of the African Development Bank, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina said, “We will miss Frannie at the Bank. I highly commend her strong dedication and commitment to helping drive institutional reforms at the Bank.
