08-Feb-2011 - Tunis, 7 February 2010 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) approved on Thursday, 3 February 2011 in Tunis, a USD 25-million senior private sector loan to finance the KivuWatt project in Rwanda. This project has been developed by ContourGlobal, a global power and energy company headquartered in New York. Along with a consortium of development finance partners, AfDB will finance the first large scale private sector investment in power generation in Rwanda.

27-Jan-2011 - Tunis, 26 January 2011 - The Boards of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, on 26 January 2011, agreed that Guinea-Bissau had met the conditions and requirements to qualify for debt relief under the Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) Initiative.
Accordingly, Guinea-Bissau will benefit from a USD 60.4-million AfDB Group debt-relief. In addition, and on an exceptional basis, the country will benefit from an estimated USD 23.7- million additional debt cancellation.
27-Jan-2011 - Tunis, 27 January 2011 – The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, approved on 21 January 2011, a USD 23-million grant to finance a rural electrification project in Guinea. 27-Jan-2011 - Tunis, 27 January 2011 – The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group’s Board of Directors approved on Wednesday, 26 January 2011, a USD 655,000 emergency relief assistance grant for Somalia.
The humanitarian assistance aims at reducing the risk of death among the most vulnerable communities in Mogadishu and surrounding areas from diseases associated with lack of proper health services, lack of clean and safe water, poor sanitation, food insecurity and poor nutrition in internally-displaced people’s camps.
27-Jan-2011 - Tunis, le 26 janvier 2011 – Les Conseils d’administration du Groupe de la Banque africaine de développement (BAD) ont conclu, lors de leur séance de ce jour, que le Togo a rempli les conditions et les exigences requises pour bénéficier d’un allègement de sa dette dans le cadre de l’Initiative en faveur des pays pauvres très endettés (PPTE).
En conséquence, le Groupe de la BAD va alléger le service de la dette du Togo envers l’institution, pour un montant de 22,9 millions de dollars américains.
