18-Sep-2009 - Tunis, September 18, 2009 – The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group and Rwanda, on Thursday, 10 September 2009 in Kigali, signed two grant agreements of UA 16 million (US$ 25 million) to finance the second phase of Rwanda’s Rural Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation Sub-Program (PNEAR II) for the period 2009-2012.

17-Sep-2009 - Tunis, 16 September 2009 – The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group on Wednesday, 16 September 2009 in Tunis approved a US$10 million investment in the West Africa Emerging Market Fund (WAEMF). The investment makes the AfDB one of the lead investors in the Fund, at par with the CDC (Commonwealth Development Corporation) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
17-Sep-2009 - Guinea Bissau’s Economy Minister and AfDB Governor, Maria Hélena Nosoline Embalo, and the AfDB Senegal Field office Resident Representative, Mohamed H’Midouche, on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, in Bissau, signed a grant agreement on a government capacity building support project (PARCA).
17-Sep-2009 - Tunis, 16 September 2009 – The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) on Wednesday, 16 September 2009 in Tunis approved a US$175-million loan to finance the expansion of the Guelb El Rhein iron ore mine operations in Mauritania.
15-Sep-2009 - AfDB Vice President, Kamal El Kheshen, and the Chadian Agriculture Minister, Mbailou Naimbaye Lossimian, on Thursday, September 11, 2009, signed two Fragile States Facility grant agreements.
The first grant of UA 450,215.71, equivalent to US$ 706,839, will finance capacity building initiatives in the human resources and training department of the Chadian health ministry.
15-Sep-2009 - Bank Group President, Donald Kaberuka, has approved a €1,430,000 grant from the African Water Facility (AWF) for the implementation of the regional water policy within the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS). Estimated at € 2,263,000, the project will attract €1,430,000 from the African Water Facility, while IPPF-NEPAD will contribute €490,000.

Kamal El Kheshen, et le Ministre tchadien de l’agriculture, M. 07-Sep-2009 - Tunis, 4 September 2009 – The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group and the Indian Ocean Commission (IOC), on Friday September 4, 2009 in Tunis concluded bi-lateral consultations aimed at strengthening collaboration between the two institutions.
The two institutions signed an Aide-Memoire at the end of a three-day visit to the AfDB by the Secretary General of the IOC, Ambassador Calixte D’Offay and one of his advisers.
07-Sep-2009 - Tunis, 2 September 2009 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank Group has approved a US$ 30 million loan to finance the Helios Shared Telecom Infrastructure Project in Nigeria.
The project consists of a countrywide expansion of a shared telecommunication infrastructure network. The provision of shared facilities by Helios Towers Nigeria (HTN) provides the opportunity for wireless telecommunication operators to roll out their network for a larger geographical coverage, while at the same time reducing their capital investments...

AfDB and Shelter Afrique signed a package of three financial agreements in Nairobi on 31 July 2009. Mrs. Domina Buzingo, Resident Representative of AfDB in Kenya, who signed on behalf of AfDB, indicated that the Bank “believes, it is through such collaboration that we can reach our development goals.”
