AfDB Group Approves US$ 36 Million for Road Projects in Malawi

25-May-2009 - Tunis, Tunisia, 22 May 2009 – The African Development Bank Group will help Malawi to improve its road networks with a loan of 22.98 million Units of Account (UA *), about US$ 34.42 million and a grant of UA 1.124 million (US$ 1.68 million) to, respectively, finance the rehabilitation of the Blantyre-Zomba trunk road and a feasibility and detailed engineering design of the country’s Ntcheu-Tsangano-Neno-Mwanza road link.

AfDB and Sierra Leone Sign US$ 15 Million Grant Agreement for Economic Governance Reform Programme

15-May-2009 - Dakar, Senegal – 14 May 2009 – The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group and the government of Sierra Leone have signed a 10-million Units of Account (US$ 15.4 million) grant agreement to finance the country’s Economic Governance Reform  Programme (EPRG). AfDB and Liberia Sign $10 million Grant Agreement for Agriculture Project

14-May-2009 - Dakar, May 14, 2009 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group and the Republic of Liberia, today, signed two agreements totaling UA 6.5 million, equivalent to US$ 10 million, for the implementation of an Agriculture Sector Rehabilitation Project and financing training and technical skills needed for the project’s execution in the country. Kenya-ADB: Mombasa-Nairobi electricity transmission: Approval of $ 75 Million ADF loan

07-May-2009 - Tunis, May 6 2009 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund on Wednesday in Tunis approved a loan of 50 million Units of Accounts, equivalent to US$ 75 million, to finance the Mombasa-Nairobi electricity transmission line project in Kenya. The project is designed to facilitate the evacuation of power generated in the Mombasa area to Nairobi and into the national grid. The availability of power from Mombasa will help the country meet current shortfalls and future demand growth for electricity nationally.

AfDB Grants US$ 97 Million Budget Support to DRC to mitigate impacts of financial crisis
