Regional Seminar on “Building Results-Based Monitoring and Evaluation Systems in PRSP Countries in Africa”, December 4-8, 2006 – Hotêl Africa, Tunis
The Regional Seminar on "Building Results-Based Monitoring and Evaluation Systems in PRSP Countries in Africa" is based on the results of a Training Needs Assessment on Monitoring and Evaluation of Poverty Reduction Strategies undertaken by the Operations Evaluation Department (OPEV) of the African Development Bank in June, 2006. Following the completion of OPEV’s Training Needs Assessment and internal discussions within the African Development Bank (African Development Institute and the Joint Africa Institute), the momentum was launched for the organization and delivery of the seminar.
The initial reaction to the seminar received from Regional Member Countries was very positive. Subsequent discussions were held with the World Bank’s Operations Evaluation Department, Africa Region’s Results and Learning Group, the World Bank Institute, and with the Poverty Reduction and Management Network to plan the organization and delivery of the seminar.
