08/11/2018 - The projects form part of a development finance compact between the Bank, the government of Portugal, and the six Portuguese-speaking countries of Africa - Angola, Cabo Verde, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, and Sao Tomé and Principe, also known as PALOPs. The compact, signed at the African Investment Forum in Johannesburg on Tuesday, stems from efforts by the African Development Bank to bring more focus on the private sector in the PALOPs.

27/06/2018 - The Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa (SEFA), managed by the African Development Bank, has approved on 30 May 2018 a US$ 1 million grant to support the Republic of São Tomé & Príncipe in unlocking private investments in development of mini hydro power projects. The projects will have a medium-term effect of reducing the country’s dependence on imported heavy oil and diesel fuel as well as increase the use of clean and reliable energy resources on the islands.

08/02/2017 - Le Fonds africain de développement (FAD), le guichet concessionnel du Groupe de la Banque africaine de développement (BAD), a donné son feu vert pour un prêt de 2,04 millions de dollars EU à la République de Sao Tomé-et-Principe, destiné à financer un projet de renforcement de l'infrastructure du système de paiement et de l'inclusion financière dans le pays.

06/04/2016 - A Bank mission, led by Acting Vice-President for Regional Operations, Janvier Litse, visited São Tomé and Príncipe (STP) from March 28-30, 2016, for a country dialogue. The progress made by the country’s Government following an investors’ conference held in London in October 2015, as well as the preparation of the Country Strategy Paper (CSP) 2017-2021, were at the heart of discussions. The mission recognized the progress and efforts made by the Government in implementing the recommendations of the London conference.
