27-Jul-2018 - La Banque africaine de développement a organisé, ce 27 juillet 2018 à Casablanca, au Maroc, un atelier de présentation de l’Africa Investment Forum (AIF).  Troisième étape d’un roadshow en Afrique du Nord après Tunis et Le Caire, cette présentation avait pour objectif de mobiliser les acteurs de l’investissement public et privés. L’objectif de cette rencontre était de mettre en place une réserve de projets bancables en amont de l’Africa Investment Forum, qui se tiendra du 7 au 9 novembre à Johannesburg, en Afrique du Sud.

African Development Bank Signs US$41 million grant agreement for Sudan’s Agriculture Value Chain Development Project

27-Jul-2018 - The African Development Bank on Thursday signed a US$41-million grant agreement with Republic of Sudan to finance a public sector Agriculture Value Chain Development Project in the country. The project was identified under Sudan’s National Agriculture Investment Plan (SNAIP), which seeks to increase agricultural production through the modernization of agricultural systems, value chains and market access, the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Mohamed Osman Elrikabi said at the signing ceremony on July 26, 2018.

Tunisia launches pilot project to use drones for data collection in agricultural sector

27-Jul-2018 - Tunisia and the African Development Bank have signed an agreement for the launch of a pilot project to use drones for data collection to enhance management of agricultural projects in the country. The project, to be implemented over the next ten months, would receive technical management and assistance from South Korea, Minister Zied Laadhari announced during the signing ceremony on Thursday July 26.  

African Investment Forum Road show in Cairo, attended by Egyptian public and Private Sector entities

23-Jul-2018 - A water irrigation and supply system funded by the African Development Bank has transformed the lives of rural farming communities in Cabo Verde’s Santiago Island, sparing farmers grueling treks of up to 20 kilometres to fetch water for farming and daily use. Santiago Island, Cabo Verde’s largest and most important agricultural centre, depends on water for its survival, but for years had been beset by endemic water shortages. Traditionally women, who make up a significant percentage of farmers, were hardest hit by the shortfall in supply.
