29/03/2018 - The tranquillity usually felt in Abidjan’s business district on the weekend was broken on the morning of Saturday, March 24, 2018 by a frenzy of activity around the headquarters of the African Development Bank.
A high level delegation from the African Development Bank delegation led by its President, Akinwumi Adesina, will early next week visit four Nordic countries as part of efforts to further accelerate the implementation of the High 5 operational priorities of its 10-Year Strategy. The Bank’s priorities are crucial in transforming the lives of African peoples, and are in line with the United Nations agenda on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well as the international development policy of the Nordic countries.
29/08/2017 - As a leading financing partner on water and sanitation services in Africa, the African Development Bank (AfDB), and two of its flagship water initiatives: the African Water Facility (AWF) and the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Initiative (RWSSI), are participating in the 2017 World Water Week in Stockholm, Sweden from August 27 to September 1, on the theme: “Water and Waste: reduce and reuse.”

09/09/2016 - The Senior Advisor to the President of the African Development Bank for Inclusive and Green Growth, Prof. Kevin Urama, has underscored the critical role of water in achieving long-term poverty reduction and economic growth in Africa. Speaking at a gathering of world water leaders in Stockholm, Sweden, Urama outlined the new strategic priorities of the AfDB and the centrality of water to these goals.

10/06/2016 - On June 8 2016, the African Development Bank Group President, Akinwumi Adesina, met with Swedish officials, in Stockholm, in the second leg of his three-country Nordic visit. In the different meetings, President Adesina thanked Sweden for its support to the African Development Bank (ADB) and the African Development Fund (ADF), and called for its continued support to the 14th ADF replenishment. Sweden joined the ADF in 1973 and the AfDB in 1982.

10/03/2014 - On Thursday, March 6, 2014, the African Development Bank (AfDB) launched its second Swedish Krona (SEK) Green Bond transaction. Coming after its inaugural SEK 5-year Green Bond in floating rate format, AfDB took advantage of the strong positive momentum and demand created from the first deal to follow up with another SEK 1 billion 5-year transaction – this time in fixed rate format.
