Tanzania-AfDB: Country Portfolio Review
Project managers and staff from the African Development Bank Country Office in Tanzania, led by the ADB Resident Representative Sheku Sesay, have been meeting with Tanzania finance ministry officials this week in a review of the Bank-funded projects in the country.
The meetings, chaired by the Commissioner of External Finance in the Ministry of Finance, Mrs. Joyce Mapunjo, exchanged views on issues affecting the implementation of projects and discussed the Country Portfolio Improvement Plan (CPIP) for the country.
"I am impressed by the noticeable improvement in the performance of the Bank-funded projects and the strengthened cooperation between the Bank and Tanzania, following the establishment of the Country Office", Mrs. Mapunjo stated at a wrap up meeting on Thursday 13 October 2005.
The team met on Wednesday with the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Gray Mgonja, who expressed appreciation for the Bank’s work in the country. Members of the team include Ms. P. Kariuki (Country Economist), Mr. W. Muchenje (Health Analyst), Mr. E. Yamoah (Transport Engineer), Mr. E. Nzabanita (Power Engineer) and Mr. M. Wa-Kyendo (Transport Engineer).
