A Technical Consultative Meeting on the African Development Bank Group (AfDB)’s Governance Strategic Framework and Action Plan (2014-2018) will be held on December 16, 2013 at the Ramada Hotel in Tunis, Tunisia.
Earlier this year, the AfDB Group’s Board of Directors approved a new Strategy for 2013-2022, whose objective is to support Africa’s transformation. As part of this new Strategy, the AfDB seeks to enhance its governance work in its Regional Member Countries (RMCs).
To this end, the AfDB has been preparing its new Governance Strategic Framework and Action Plan for 2014-2018 and will be holding technical consultations in Tunis to enable key stakeholders to provide input and feedback so as to fine tune its strategic orientation and relevance for addressing Africa’s key governance challenges.
The participants will include officials from the AfDB’s member countries, key development partners, private sector players, civil society as well as regional and international development institutions.
The meeting will be opened by AfDB Vice President Aly Abou-Sabaa. The key note address on the state of governance in Africa will be delivered by Abdoulie Janneh, Executive Director of African Governance Institute and member of the Board of Mo Ibrahim Foundation.
