The African Development Institute (EADI) on Monday, November 8, 2010, in Abuja, launched a workshop on implementation tools and techniques. The main objective of the workshop was to improve implementation capacity of the institution’s borrowing member countries by targeting those engaged in the management and implementation of on-going Bank-funded projects.
The training provided an opportunity to test training materials that had been developed. After the workshop, the material will be used for large-scale training in 2011 and will also be uploaded as training content on the Bank‘s Learning Manaagement System (LMS) program.
The Nigerian finance ministry representative at the event, Lucky Ntorue, underscored the benefits of the training and called on them to grasp what the experts had to offer with a view to putting them into practice. He thanked the AfDB for all the development efforts and activities it had carried out in Nigeria. The Nigeria Field Office ( NGFO) acting resident representative, John Kofi Baffoe, also highlighted the critical need of the training programme as a foundation for capacity development for the Bank’s project portfolio management. The workshop brought together some thirty participants from various Nigerian states and line ministries. The seminar was organized by EADI, NGFO and the Nigerian finance ministry. It was coordinated by EADI training officer, Mamadou Kone.
