AfDB Grants US $3.2 Million for Technical Assistance to Sudan for PRSP Preparation

On Thursday October 3,  2013, the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Government of Sudan signed a Protocol of Agreement for Technical Assistance for the preparation of a full Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PRSP). The grant is financed with UA 1.97 million (US $3.2 million) from Pillar III of the Fragile States Facility. Most of the funds will go towards financing a National Baseline Household Survey (NBHS) in all 18 states in Sudan, which will be the first since the secession of South Sudan. The AfDB Grants US $1.5 million to Flood Victims and to the University of Nyala in Darfur

The African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Government of Sudan on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, signed two Protocol of Agreements in which the Bank provided Emergency Assistance of US $1 million to Flood Victims in Blue and White Nile States, and US $0.5 million to the University of Nyala to build research capacity for the Scientific Preservation of Livestock Breeds in Sudan. AfDB Grants US $0.34 Million to Sudan’s National Energy Research Centre

The African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Republic of Sudan on February 28, 2013 signed an agreement for a grant of US $0.34 million to the National Energy Research Centre (NERC) to undertake Capacity Building and Assessment of Options for Increasing Access to Energy in Sudan. AfDB Launches US $1.6 Million Grant Project in Sudan

On December 14, 2102 in Khartoum, the African Development Bank and the Government of Sudan launched the project on Capacity Enhancement for Debt Management and Resource Mobilization (CEDMRM). The US $1.5 million grant from Fragile States Facility (Pillar III) was approved by the Bank’s Board early this year and the agreement signed with the Government on May 3, 2012.
