Mozambique: African Development Bank Group approves $1.4 million grant for Enhancing Private Sector Engagement and Capacity Building for refugees and internally displaced persons

The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank Group on 11 February 2022 approved a $1.4 million grant for enhancing private sector engagement and capacity building for refugees and internally displaced persons in fragile areas of northern Mozambique.

The project will be implemented by the global refugee agency UNHCR, collaborating with the Government of Mozambique. The grant is from the Transition Support Facility Pillar III.

The African Development Bank Group is a lead partner of the 9th World Water Forum, which will be held from 21-26 March 2022 in the lake city of Diamniadio, Senegal.

Co-organized by the World Water Council and the Government of Senegal, this year’s World Water Forum is the first hosted in Sub-Saharan Africa. The forum’s theme is “Water Security for Peace and Development.”

La nouvelle politique adoptée par le Conseil d’administration de la Banque est une approche programmatique qui permettra à l’institution de structurer sur la durée, des opérations (projets ou programmes) importantes et/ou complexes, présentées sous la forme d’une série de petits projets liés entre eux par tranches sur une période ne dépassant pas 10 ans.

Niger: African Development Bank Group approves $127 million package to open up eastern agricultural areas

On Wednesday in Abidjan, the African Development Bank Group approved funding of $127.8 million to Niger. The funds approved by the Board of Directors of the African Development Fund, the Group's concessional arm, will be used for a project to open up access to farming and pastoral lands in the east of the country, along its border with Nigeria.
