President Macky Sall of Senegal has commended the African Development Bank for the impact of its funded projects in his country, the most recent of these being the Regional Express Train launched last month.

President Sall was speaking at State House in Dakar, where he received visiting African Development Bank head, Dr Akinwumi A. Adesina.

“African Development Bank-funded projects are in line with our own development strategy. Your Bank understands the needs of Senegal,” President Sall said.

African Development Bank Group President Dr Akinwumi A. Adesina has announced a financial package of $30 million dollars to the West African nation of Guinea -Bissau.

The African Development Bank Group on 26 January 2022, announces the 48-month debarment of CP Power East Africa Limited and Mr. Dawit Wondwossen with effect from 4 November 2021. CP Power East Africa Limited is a limited liability company registered under the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Mr. Dawit Wondwossen is the Managing Director of CP Power East Africa Limited.

Ahead of the EU-African Union Summit scheduled for 17-18 February 2022, African thought leaders stressed the importance of trade agreements and regional integration as keys to drive investment into the continent in a discussion organised by the European parliament to discuss Africa’s partnership and cooperation with the EU.

African Development Bank President Dr. Akinwumi A. Adesina has described the Dangote oil refinery and petrochemical plant projects as a “game-changing initiative” that will spur Africa's development and deepen regional integration.
