African Development Bank’s Akinwumi Adesina, three others win Academy of Public Health’s 2020 top Distinguished Fellowship Award

The Academy of Public Health, the flagship body of the West African Institute of Public Health, has named African Development Bank Group President Akinwumi Adesina and three other eminent persons as winners of its 2020 Distinguished Fellowship Award.

Adesina, World Health Organisation (WHO)’s Tedros Ghebreyesus, Leith Greenslade of JustActions and Winnie Byanyima of the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS, were nominated by young public health professionals across Africa for their demonstrated leadership in working to ensure equity, better health and wellbeing for all.

African Development Bank, collaborators, launch first Fashionomics Africa online contest for sustainable and innovative circular fashion

The African Development Bank’s Fashionomics Africa initiative is launching a competition to support designers of sustainable and circular fashion.

The first Fashionomics Africa online contest will invite African fashion brands pursuing environmentally friendly measures, sustainability and circular economy actions to participate. The designer submitting the “best sustainable design” will win $2,000 and other prizes.

Nordic Development Fund extends grant of $8.8 million to African Water Facility for COVID-19 Recovery in the Sahel and Horn of Africa regions

The Board of Directors of the Nordic Development Fund (NDF)  on Tuesday  approved $8.8 million in grant funding to the  African Water Facility (AWF) to bolster investments in COVID-19 recovery and preparation for investment of water supply, sanitation, and integrated water resources management projects in the Sahel and the Horn of Africa.

Zambezi Gold Honey has been selling its table honey on the South African market for the last three years. The company’s breakthrough into the export market, partially thanks to the Trade and Institutional Capacity Building in the Apiculture Sector (TICBAS) project supported by the African Development Bank.

C’est le chemin que nous devons emprunter pour l’enseigner ensuite aux générations futures par la prévention et la sensibilisation », ont suggéré, mercredi 09 décembre, des experts lors d’un webinaire organisé à l’occasion de la Journée internationale de lutte contre la corruption.
