Chad - ADF Supports Water and Sanitation Project
Tunis, 12 July 2006 – Efforts aimed at improving living conditions in Chad have received a big boost from the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, following the approval of a grant to finance a water and sanitation project in two regions of the country.
The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund, the concessional arm of the AfDB Group, on Wednesday in Tunis, approved a grant of 13 million Units of Account* (US$ 19.2 million or CFA 10 billion) to finance a component of The National Rural Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation Programme (DWSS).
Morocco - AfDB Approves 119 million Euro Loan for Marrakech-Agadir Road Project
Tunis, 21 July 2006 – The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved a loan of 118.60 million Euros to finance the construction of Marrakech-Agadir Motorway project in Morocco.
The project is in line with the Bank’s assistance strategy for Morocco, as the motorway forms part of the country’s national and regional infrastructure development plan.

Morocco - AfDB approves EUR 80 Million loan to finance Water and sanitation
Tunis, July 21, 2006 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank has approved a loan of 69 million Units of Account, equivalent to 80.29 million Euros to finance the Ninth Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation Project in Morocco.
This project is a major contribution by the Bank to the Government’s efforts to provide drinking water and sanitation services to the Moroccan population in a sustainable manner.
It is designed to improve drinking water supply in the rural areas especially in the provinces of Chefchaouen, Azilal, Kénitra and Settat.

Tunis, 21 July 2006 – The African Development Bank, through its private sector window, in Tunis today approved a loan of 6.4 million Euros to Fabulous Flowers Swaziland PTY Ltd (FFS) with a view to promoting the floriculture sector in Swaziland and contributing to economic growth in the country through private sector development.
The project will not only result in increased agricultural output, outgrowers’ incomes and foreign exchange generation, but also improve social accountability.

USD100 million to DBSA for Infrastructure Facility
Tunis, 21 July 2006 – The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) approved today a non-sovereign, regional infrastructure development facility of USD100 million to DBSA (Development Bank of South Africa) to support competitive infrastructure development, expansion, and rehabilitation in the SADC sub-region.
