A CFAF 19 Billion ADF Loan to Support the Milk and Meat Sectors in Benin
Tunis, November 27th, 2008 – The African Development Fund (ADB Group) Board of Directors has approved a UA 25 million* loan, equivalent to US $ 37.5 or CFAF 19.13 billion, to finance the Milk and Meat Sectors Support Project (PAFILAV) in Benin.
COMESA - US$ 8 Million Grant in Support of Public Procurement
Tunis, 14 August 2006 – The African Development Bank Group and the Common Market for East and Southern Africa on Monday in Tunis, signed an agreement for a grant of 5.66 million Units of Account (UA*), equivalent to US$ 8.40 million to finance procurement reforms and capacity building project in COMESA states.
Mr. Lobe Ndoumbe, Acting Director, Governance, Economic and Financial Management Department, signed the agreement for the Bank while Mr. Sindiso Ngwenya, Assistant Secretary-General for COMESA.
The AfDB Supports Reforms in Burundi
Tunis, 25 November 2008 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group Board of Directors has approved a Grant of 14 million Units of Account (UA)*, equivalent to US$ 20.8 million, to help finance Burundi’s Second Economic Reform Support Programme (ERSP-II).
The funding, approved by the Board in Tunis on Tuesday, comprises a grant of UA12 million from the "Fragile States Facility" (FSF) of the African Development Fund, the concessionary window of the Bank Group, and an AfDB grant of UA 2 million within the framework of the "Bank’s Response to the Food Crisis".
Burkina Faso - AfDB Group Supports Development
US$19 Million ADF Loan and Grant for Rural Development and Protection against Avian Influenza
Tunis, 18 August 2006 – The African Development Bank Group and the Government of Burkina Faso on Friday in Tunis signed a loan and a grant agreement amounting to US$ 19.48 million to finance rural development and the National Avian Influenza control Program in Burkina Faso.
CAR - US$ 4.9 Million ADF Grant for Capacity Building
Tunis 22 August 2006 – The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group and the Central African Republic (CAR) on Monday in Tunis signed a UA 3.3 million grant agreement, equivalent to US$4.9 million, to finance a project for the rehabilitation of economic planning capacity in the Central African Republic.
The agreement was signed by the Bank Group’s Vice President, Mandla Sizwe Gantsho, and CAR’s Minister of the Economy, Planning and International Cooperation, Sylvain Maliko, in the presence of the Bank Group’s Secretary-General, Modibo Toure.
