AfDB Approves US$ 18.7 Million for Electricity Project in Guinea
Tunis, 29 October 2008 – The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, on Wednesday in Tunis approved a 12 million Units of Account (UA*) grant, equivalent to US$ 18.7 million, to finance an electricity project in Conakry, Guinea.
AfDB Supports Health System Development in Equatorial Guinea
Tunis, 29 October 2008 – The African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved a loan of € 15.982 million to finance a health system development project in Equatorial Guinea.
The Health System Development Support Project aims at building the national health system’s capacity to deal with communicable diseases and provide quality healthcare with a view to improving the health status of the population.
AfDB approves US$ 93 Million loan for Mozambique
Tunis, October 22, 2008 – The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group has approved a budget support loan of 60 million Units of Account (UA*), equivalent to US$ 93.4 million, to finance Mozambique’s second Poverty Reduction Support Programme (PRSL II) for three fiscal years ending December 2010.
AfDB Group Approves US$ 293 Million for Infrastructure Development and Poverty Reduction
Tunis, 22 October 2008 – The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group on Wednesday in Tunis, approved US$ 293.4 million to Tunisia, Mozambique and Third Emerging Capital Partners Africa Fund (EAF 3) to boost infrastructure development and poverty reduction on the continent.
The Board, under the Bank Group’s Private Sector Window, approved the provision of a US$ 150 million senior to finance the Hasdrubal Oil and Gas Field Development Project, located in the Gulf of Gabes, 350 kilometres south-east of Tunis.
Leveraging African Diaspora Efforts in Developing their Countries-AfDB, France and IFAD Sign Agreement Establishing Migration and Development Fund
Tunis, 23 October 2009 – An agreement establishing a multilateral Trust Fund to improve African migrant remittances was signed on Friday, 23 October 2009 in Paris by the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, the French government and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
The agreement was signed by the AfDB President, Donald Kaberuka; the French Immigration, Integration and Cooperative Development Minister, Eric Besson and IFAD’s Director for West and Central Africa, Mohamed Béavogui.
