Japan and AfDB commit USD 1 Million Technical Assistance Grant for SME Capacity Building in Africa
Sunday, Istanbul, 5 October 2009 - Japan and the African Development Bank (AfDB) have committed a grant of USD 1,000,000 to the African Training and Management Services Project (ATMS) from the Fund for African Private Sector Assistance (FAPA). In a ceremony organized on the side of the World Bank/IMF Annual Meetings in Istanbul, a grant agreement was signed today by AfDB Private Sector Operations Director, Mr. Tim Turner and ATMS Chairman Mr. J. Berteling.
Sierra Leone: AfDB Group Approves US$ 16 Million Supplementary Loan for Bumbuna Hydroelectric Project
Tunis, 8 October 2008 – The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, on Wednesday in Tunis approved a loan of 10.30 million Units of Account (UA*), approximately US$ 16 million, to finance the Bumbuna Hydroelectric Project in Sierra Leone.
Egypt: AfDB Approves US$ 88 Million Loan and Grant to Finance Micro and Small Enterprises
Tunis, 11 October 2006 – The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB), on Wednesday in Tunis, approved a loan and a grant amounting to US$ 88.04 million, to finance a project in support of micro and small enterprises in Egypt. The resources will be managed by a Social Development Fund (SDF).

AfDB Group Board Approves Over US$ 187 Million for Five African Countries
Tunis, 24 September 2008 – The governments and businesses in five African Countries – Djibouti, Nigeria, Zambia, Mali and Malawi – will benefit from a combined multi-purpose funding of US$ 187 million approved by the Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group today in Tunis.
The approvals comprise four private sector financing with a combined value of US$ 102.6 million to three countries and two public sector projects worth US$ 73.8 million in two countries.
