Tunis, 27 October 2006 – The African Development Fund (ADF) is supporting the rehabilitation and maintenance of the Montepuez – Lichinga road corridor in Mozambique with a loan of 30.10 million units of account (US$ 44.4 million or 1.15 billion Meticais), approved today by the Fund’s Board of Directors.
AfDB Commits USD 30 million to Shelter Afrique to Improve Housing in Africa
Nairobi, Kenya – 31 July 2009- The African Development Bank (AfDB) has committed more than USD 38 million to Shelter Afrique in support of sustainable housing solutions in Africa. AfDB and Shelter Afrique signed a package of three financial agreements in Nairobi on 31 July 2009. Mrs. Domina Buzingo, Resident Representative of AfDB in Kenya, who signed on behalf of AfDB, indicated that the Bank “believes, it is through such collaboration that we can reach our development goals.”
AfDB Approves a Private Sector Investment of US$ 25 Million Equity in the Rising Africa Infrastructure Fund
Tunis, 17 July 2008 – The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank Group approved a US$ 25 million equity investment in the Rising Africa Infrastructure Fund (RAIF or the Fund), which will make investments in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects that would cover not only concession-type projects for commercial infrastructure but also Private Finance Initiative (PFI) projects for social infrastructure.
