US$ 23 Million ADF Grant for Agricultural Development in Africa

Tunis, 29 November 2006 – The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group will support the development of agriculture in Africa by promoting science and technology. To achieve this objective, the Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the AfDB has approved a grant of 15.581 million Units of Account (UA*), equivalent to US$ 23 million, to finance the Promotion of Science and Technology for Agricultural Development in Africa.

AfDB, Rwanda and Burundi Sign Draft Agreement on Road and Electricity Projects

The Bank Group on Monday, March 16, 2009, in Tunis signed a loan agreement of Units of Account (UA) 100 million for the Nyamitanga-Ruhwa-Ntendezi-Mwittyazo multinational road project and an electrical interconnection network project of UA 99.77 million for the Nile equatorial lakes region as part of the total cost of UA160 million with the governments of Rwanda and Burundi.

Approval of an ADF Grant for the Inga Hydro-Electric Project

The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), a member of the African Development Bank (ADB) Group, on Wednesday in Tunis approved a grant of 9,510,000 Units of Account (UA), which is equivalent to about 15.7 million dollars, to finance a study on the development of the Inga hydro-electric site and related interconnections in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

ADF Supports the Cotton/textile sector in Four African Countries

Tunis,  November 29, 2006 – The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF) on Wednesday in Tunis approved a loan and a grant amounting to UA 35 million, equivalent to US$ 51.9 million to finance the Multinational Support Project for the Cotton/textile sector in the four countries of the Cotton Initiative (C.I) namely, Benin, Burkina Faso, Mali and Chad.
