AfDB and Egypt Sign US$ 450 million Thermal Power Project Agreement
Tunis, 15 March 2009 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group affirmed its support to a major power project in Egypt on Sunday, 15 March 2009 in Cairo, with the signing of a US$ 450 million loan agreement for the construction of a 1300 MW (2x650 MW) steam turbine power plant near Ain Sokhna seaport on the Gulf of Suez.
US$ 13.6 Million ADF Grant to Facilitate Trade and Transport in East Africa
Tunis, 29 November 2006 – The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group has approved a grant of 9.20 million Units of Account (UA*), equivalent to US$ 13.6 million to finance an institutional support project to facilitate trade and transport in East Africa.
AfDB and Rwanda Sign Grant Agreements for Skills and Enterprise Development
Kigali, 11 March 2009-The Bank Group and Rwanda on March 7, 2009, in Kigali, signed protocol agreements for two grants amounting to US$ 17.2 million to support the second phase of a Science and Technology for Skills Development and Competitiveness and Enterprise Development Projects in the country.
The agreements were signed by Rwanda’s Finance Minister, James Musoni, and the Bank Group’s Field Office Resident Representative, Jacob Diko Mukete.
AfDB Supports SMEs in Liberia, Approves Equity Investment and Technical Assistance Grant
Tunis, 23 April 2008 –The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) approved on Wednesday in Tunis an Equity investment of US$900,000 in Access Bank Liberia (ABL) and a US$ 1 million grant from the Fund for African Private Sector Assistance (FAPA) to support small businesses and post-conflict recovery efforts in Liberia.
ADF Approves US$ 4, 44 million Grant for Decentralization Project in Niger
