AfDB and Benin Sign CFAF 19 Billion Milk and Meat Production Loan Agreement

Tunis, 20 February 2009 – The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group and the Republic of Benin signed on Friday in Tunis an agreement for an African Development fund (ADF) loan of 25 million Units of Account (UA*), equivalent to US$ 37 million (CFAF 19 billion), to finance the country’s Milk and Meat Sectors Support Project (PAFILAV).

ADF, Mozambique sign Economic reform and Poverty Reduction Support Loan Program

The AfDB Group Vice President for North, East and South Operations, Mr. Theodore Nkodo, and the Ambassador for Mozambique in Portugal, S.E.M Gregorio Leao Jose, signed a loan agreement in Tunis on Friday, December 10, to finance the second Program of Economic Reform and Good Governance for Poverty Reduction in Mozambique amounting to US$ 50 million (30 million Units of Account).

The Gambia: Grant Financing of Livestock and Horticulture Development Project

Banjul, January 9, 2009 - The protocol agreement on a grant to finance the livestock and horticulture development project which was approved by the African Development Fund (ADF) Board of Directors on the December 26, 2008, was signed on Friday in Banjul, The Gambia. The agreement was signed for the country by its Finance and Economic Affairs Secretary of State, Mousa Gibril Bala-Gaye, and AfDB’s Regional Resident Representative in Senegal, Mohamed H’Midouche.

AfDB and Cape Verde Sign US $7.44 Million Loan Agreement for Budget Support Programme to Fight Poverty

The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group and Cape Verde have signed a loan agreement of UA 5 million, equivalent to US$ 7.4 million or CVE 667,990,000 on Wednesday, January 7, 2009, in Tunis. Approved by the AfDB Board of Directors on December 22, 2008, the loan is designed to finance the Second Budget Support Programme to Cape Verde’s Poverty Reduction Strategy (PASRP-II).

Tunis, 4 December 2006 – The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group on Monday in Tunis, approved a partial guarantee of 10 million Euros loan in support of growth-oriented women enterprises development programme (GOWE) in Cameroon.
