Ethiopia: US$ 98 Million ADF Loan for Upgrading Jima-Mizan Road
Tunis, 13 December 2006 – The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group will support the Ethiopian government’s proposal to upgrade the Jima-Mizan road in the south-western part of the country with a loan of 65 million Units of Account (UA*), equivalent to US$ 98 million approved on Wednesday in Tunis by the Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the AfDB Group.
ADF launches a study on Fisheries resources developmentin Ethiopia
This study will examine the problems of development of the fisheries sub-sector and aquaculture. A Development Plan, and a set of appropriate actions aimed at better orientation of future interventions in the sub-sector will also be defined.
AfDB Supports Microfinance Institutions in DRC-Approval of US$1.1 Million Equity Investment in Advans Bank Congo
Tunis, 30 January 2008 – Micro-enterprises and SMEs in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) will benefit from an equity investment of US$ 1.1 million in Advans Bank of Congo (ABC) and a technical assistance grant of Euros 650,000, approved by the Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB).
ADF Approves US$ 80 Million for Kenya-Tanzania Road Link
Tunis, 13 December 2006 – Efforts to provide a reliable road link between neighbouring Kenya and Tanzania got a boost from the African Development Bank Group with the approval of a loan and a grant amounting to 53.28 million Units of Account (UA*), equivalent to US$ 80.33 million to rehabilitate the road link.
AfDB and Access Bank of Tanzania Sign 660,000 USD Technical Assistance Grant
Dar es Salaam, 2 December 2009 - Representatives from the African Development Bank (AfDB) and Access Bank Tanzania (ABT) gathered today to sign a grant of USD 660,000 from the Fund for African Private Sector Assistance (FAPA). FAPA is sponsored by the Government of Japan, and Ambassador Hiroshi NAKAGAWA from the Japanese Government was present for the signing.
