US$ 190 million from the AfDB to Link up Congo and Cameroon

Tunis, 25 September 2009 – The Board of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group approved today an important financial package worth USD 190 million to link up Congo and Cameroon. This funding from the African Development Fund, the concessional window of the AfDB Group, comprises a grant of 61.9 million Units of Account (USD 97 million) and a loan of UA 59.27 millions (USD 93 million).

Rwanda- Burundi: AfDB Group Approves US$ 47 Million Grant for Bugesera Project

Tunis, 25 September 2009 – The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessionary window of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) approved, Friday, 25 September 2009 in Tunis, a grant of 30 million Unit of Accounts (UA), equivalent to 47 million USD, to finance the Bugesera Natural Region Rural  Infrastructure Project (Bugesera PAIR).

Senegal Reaches Completion Point in HIPC Initiative: Obtains major debt relief from the AfDB

The Bank Group will, as a result, provide irrevocable debt relief of US$ 56.80 million in net present value (NPV) terms to the country. Senegal will be released from up to 80 percent of annual debt service to the Bank Group until the entire amount is delivered sometime in 2006.

In reaching its decision, the Boards recognized the fact that Senegal had satisfactorily implemented reforms agreed to when the country reached the decision point in June 2000. In line with the enhanced HIPC framework arrangements, Senegal had to fulfill the following conditions to reach completion point:

Tunis, le 16 septembre 2009 – Le Conseil d’administration du Fonds africain de développement (FAD), le bras concessionnel du groupe de la Banque africaine de développement (BAD), a approuvé, mercredi 16 septembre 2009, à Tunis, un don de 12.750.000 UC, équivalent à près de 20 M d’USD, pour financer un projet d’assainissement dans les villes de Brazzaville et Pointe Noire en République du Congo.
