African Development Fund Supports Construction of Feeder Roads in Burkina Faso
The loan of 15.71 million Units of Account (UA), equivalent to 22.95 million US dollars was approved by the Board of Directors of the ADF in Tunis on Wednesday to finance the Feeder Roads Project.
African Development Bank invests up to USD 150 million to support the United Bank of Africa (UBA)
Tunis – 22 July 2009- The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group approved on Wednesday in Tunis, loans under the Bank’s Emergency Liquidity Facility (ELF) and Trade Finance Initiative (TFI) for a total amount of US$ 150 million to United Bank of Africa Plc (UBA) Nigeria.
USD 50 million to support Zenith Bank Plc of Nigeria
Tunis – 22 July 2009- The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group approved on Wednesday in Tunis, a senior loan of US$ 50 million to Zenith Bank Plc of Nigeria. This loan is aimed at revamping Zenith’s liquidity to cushion the effects of the financial crisis and lessen potential funding disruptions to vital ongoing projects in the infrastructure and industrial sectors.
Benin Reinforces Road Network
The Board of Directors of the ADF on Wednesday in Tunis approved a loan of 7.80 million Units of Account (UA), equivalent to 11.39 million US dollars to help finance intra-city roads and ancillary projects in Benin.
The Project aims at improving the Pobe-Ketou-Illara road and living conditions of the population of the area. It is intended to improve the level of service of transport infrastructure with a view to strengthening regional economic integration and contribute to growth in national and international trade.

CAR: AfDB Approves US$ 12 Million for Community Development Project
Tunis, Tunisia, 22 July 2009 – In line with efforts to help states tackle poverty and build capacity, the African development Bank (AfDB) Group has approved a grant of US$12.41 million (8 million Units of Account) from the Fragile States Facility (FSF) to finance a Project for Community Development and Support Tto Vulnerable Groups (PDCAGV) in Central African Republic.
