The African Development Bank (AfDB) signs loan agreement for the first pan-African Satellite.
On January 17th, alongside its partners, the African Development Bank signed the Loan agreement for the RascomStar-QSF project alongside its development partners. The loan is the final piece of the financing arrangements that will see the launch of the first pan-African communications satellite on 20th December. The total investment in the project is US$380 million of which the Bank provided a loan of US$50 million.

Uganda-US$ 55.8 Million Loan for Markets and Trade Improvement Project
Tunis, 25 March 2009 - Uganda has secured a concessionary loan of 38 million Units of Account (UA*), equivalent to US$55.8 million, to finance a Markets and Agricultural Trade Improvement Project (MATP-1).
Approved on Wednesday in Tunis by the Board of Directors of the African Development Fund, the soft loan window of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, the funding will be used to improve marketplace economic and social infrastructure for about 900,000 households in 19 districts in the country.

Union of Comoros: the AfDB Group wipes out US$ 24 m In arrears
Tunis, 18 December 2007 – The Boards of Directors of the African Development Bank and African Development Fund approved in Tunis on Tuesday an arrears clearance amounting to 15.21 million Units of Account* (approximately US$ 24 million or 8.1 billion Comorian Francs) in favor of the Union of Comoros. This clearance accounts for 69 % of the Comoros arrears to the African Development Bank Group.
