Rwanda–AfDB Supports Butare-Kitabi-Ntendezi Road Project
Tunis, 25 March 2009 - The African Development Fund (ADF), the concessionary window of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, will support the rehabilitation and maintenance of a major road in Rwanda with a grant of 16 million Units of Account (UA*), equivalent to US$23.5 million, approved by the institutions Executive Board on Wednesday, 25 March 2009, in Tunis, Tunisia.
AfDB approves a total of USD 406.29 Million in loans and grants to 4 African countries
Tunis, December 18, 2007 - The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) on Monday in Tunis approved a total loan and grant package of USD 406.29 million for development projects and programs in four of the Bank’s member countries. The resources will be used for a range of initiatives that include energy, increasing agricultural productivity, strengthening institutional capacity and road-building.
New Compliance Review and Mediation Unit Makes Presentation
Tunis, 21 Novembre 2006 - The Bank on Tuesday organized a seminar on the workings of the newly created Compliance Review and Mediation Unit (CRMU). The unit provides people adversely affected by a Bank-financed project with a possibility to request the Bank to comply with its own policies and procedures. The seminar also sought to help staff member familiarize themselves with this new mechanism. Experts from the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank also shared their experiences on this new mechanism with Bank staff.
ECOWAS: AfDB Group Supports Science and Technology Education Project
Tunis, 18 March 2009-The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group has re-affirmed its support to the development of science and technology education in Africa with the approval of a grant of 12 million Units of Account (UA*), equivalent to US$ 17.60, million to finance a Network of African Institutions of Science and Technology Project in the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
2nd AfDB Line of Credit to the National Bank of Egypt
Tunis, 12 October 2005 – The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (ADB) approved in Tunis on Tuesday a loan of 200 million dollars to the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) to finance the Small and Medium Enterprises Support Project. The project comprises a line of credit of US$ 200 million and a grant of 300,000 Units of account* (US$ 435,000).
