Multinational: ADF Approves US$ 165 Million for Transport Facilitation on the Douala–Bangui and Douala–N’Djamena Corridors

Tunis, 5 July 2007 – The African Development Fund (ADF) the concessional window of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group has approved a loan and a grant amounting to US$ 164.89 million to finance a Transport Facilitation Programme on the Douala-Bangui and Douala-N’djamena corridors.
New 50-Dinar Banknote Advertises AfDB-Tunisia Cooperation
The mega Enfidha airport project, funded by the AfDB, features prominently on a new 50-dinar banknote, the highest current denomination put into circulation in Tunisia on July 25, on the occasion of the country’s Republic Day anniversary celebrations. Thus, the Tunisian Central Bank pays tribute to the € 70-Million airport project being funded by the Bank Group, by reproducing the miniature of the project on one side of the new bill. The 50-dinar bill will be gradually injected into the economy in order to manage domestic currency circulation to the tune of 3 to 4 million notes.
ADF Supports the Modernization of Public Expenditure Control in Benin
Tunis, 29 June 2005 – The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, on Wednesday in Tunis approved a loan to Benin of 2.5 million Units of Account (UA*) equivalent to US$ 3.7 million to finance the Control Institutions Support Project (PAIC).

Revival of Economic Activity in Casamance: ADF supports Roads Rehabilitation in Senegal
Tunis, 29 June 2005 – The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the African Development Bank (ADB) Group, on Wednesday in Tunis approved a loan to Senegal of 29 million Units of Account (UA*) equivalent to US$ 43 million to finance the Road Maintenance Project.
The main objective of the project is to improve the overall condition of the transport system. More specifically, the project will improve the repair and servicing of roads concerned, reduce transport costs and develop access to basic social services.
