Mauritius: US$ 20.75 Million AfDB Loan for Sewerage Project

Tunis, 20 June 2007 – The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved a loan of 13.72 million Units of Account* (US$ 20.75 million) to finance the first stage of the Plaines Wilhems Sewerage Project in the central parts of Mauritius.
ADF, Burundi sign 4 loan and grant agreements to support socio-economic reforms, institutional modernization and good governance
The ADB Vice-President for Central and West operations, Mr. Bisi Ogunjobi and Burundi’s Minister of Finances, Mr. Athanase Gahungu signed in Tunis four loan and grant agreements from the African Development Fund (ADF) to finance three important operations for a total amount of US$ 36 million equivalent to UA* 23 million. These three operations will focus on administrative modernization, basic infrastructure rehabilitation, protection of environment and reinforcement of capacity building.

Bank Group Rolls Out Climate Risk Management and Adaptation Strategy
Tunis, 29 April 2009 - African Development Bank has joined the global call for efficient management of the threats posed by climate change, by producing a strategy to address risks to sustained economic growth in Africa, and promote political stability in the world. The Bank Group’s Boards of Directors approved the Climate Risk Management and Adaptation Strategy (CRMA), on Wednesday in Tunis, paving the way for its implementation.
