ADB and other MDBs in Videoconference Consultations

"The African Development Bank will be increasingly involved in the conception and coordination of the Global Monitoring Report."  It was within the framework of this assertion that ADB officials held a videoconference discussion on the subject of the 2006 Global Monitoring Report with counterparts from the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the Islamic Development Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. 

Tunisia: EUR 100 Million Line of Credit to STB, € 300,000 Institutional Support Grant

Tunis, 28 March 2007 – The African Development Bank has provided Tunisian Small-and Medium-Size Enterprises with additional financial resources through a line of credit of 100 million Euros extended to the Société Tunisienne de Banque (STB). The operation was approved today in Tunis by the Bank’s Board of Directors along with a technical assistance grant.

The Africa Partnership Forum

President Donald Kaberuka has been in London this week, participating in two important meetings on Africa: the Africa Partnership Forum and the Africa Infrastructure Consortium. 

British Prime Minister Tony Blair told the Forum he would personally work to ensure that promises by the international community to support Africa were honored.

Washington, September 25, 2005 - The President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, Donald Kaberuka, is urging the global development community to pay more attention to the impact on African economies of rising oil prices which, he says, threaten to roll back progress already achieved.

Tunis, 21 September 2005 - The President of the African Development Bank (ADB) Group, Mr. Donald Kaberuka, has stressed the need for the Bank to play a greater advocacy role within the international community on development issues affecting the continent.

He told members of the Board of Directors during his weekly meeting in Tunis on Wednesday that it was of particular importance that the Bank review the impact of rising oil prices on the economies of the regional member countries, share its findings with other donors and determine the Bank’s possible response.
