Mauritania: ADF Approves US$ 9 Million for Microfinance project

Tunis, 2 March 2007 – Mauritania will benefit from the support of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the African Development Bank (AfDB)  Group which, on Friday in Tunis, approved a loan of 5.98 million Units of Account (UC*), equivalent to US$ 8.9 million to finance a capacity building project for microfinance operators (PRECAMF) in the country.

AfDB President-Elect, Donald Kaberuka, Assumes Office on 1 September

Tunis, 29 August 2005 – The 7th elected President of the African Development Bank (ADB) Group, Mr. Donald Kaberuka, will be sworn in on 1 September 2005, at the Temporary Relocation Agency (ATR) in Tunis. The ceremony will be witnessed by the Chair of the Board of Governors, members of the Board of Directors as well as management and staff of the Bank.

Mozambique: Poverty Reduction-US$ 25 Million ADF Loan for Dam and Agricultural Rehabilitation

Tunis, 2 March 2007 – The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group on Friday in Tunis, approved a supplementary loan of 17 million Units of Account (UC*), equivalent to US$ 25.58 million to finance the Massingir Dam and Smallholder Agricultural Rehabilitation Project in Mozambique.

AfDB NEPAD Week: NEPAD Short Term Action Plan Under Review

Tunis, 13 July 2005 – The implementation of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) Infrastructure Programme is on a fast track, the President of the African Development Bank (ADB) said on Wednesday. "Since 2003 I am pleased to note that good progress has been made in the financing of a number of investment projects",Mr. Omar Kabbaj emphasised in his opening statement at the 2004 NEPAD-Short Term Action Plan Review Workshop organized as part of activities of the NEPAD week taking place from 11 to 15 July 2005 in Tunis.
