Tunis, 31 January 2007 – The African Development Fund (ADF), the concessional window of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group will support a Community Agricultural Infrastructure Improvement Programme Project-1 (CAIIP-1) in Uganda with a loan of 30 million Units of Account (UA*), equivalent to US$ 45.13 million approved by the Fund’s Board of Directors on Wednesday in Tunis.

"As you deliberate on your plans for the years ahead, consider also the need for us to harness Africa’s potentials to create wealth and improve the quality of life of our people, to make abject poverty a thing of the past,"Obasanjo told delegates at the opening of the 2005 Annual meetings of the Bank at the Abuja International Conference Centre on Wednesday.

Egypt, December 17, 2007 - CRMU has presented the independent review mechanism (IRM) in the regional African Conference on Human Rights Spaces Initiatives in Africa  which was organized during the period December 16-18, 2007 in Cairo  by the Arab Institute for Human Rights, the Arab Organization for Human Rights and the Housing and Land Rights Network and sponsored by the Ford Foundation.
