African migration generates win-win benefits, says new report

Yet African governments need to do more to realize the full economic benefits of the phenomenon, says a new report by the African Development Bank and the World Bank.

Donors to Increase Financial Support to NEPAD IPPF

Libreville, Gabon, 11/06/08-Donors at the 8th NEPAD Infrastructure Project Facility, NEPAD-IPPF Oversight Committee Meeting in Libreville, Gabon, have pledged to contribute more than US$ 10 million, to the facility to support its capacity building activities for Regional Economic Communities (RECs). DFID, during the two-day meeting, announced it was contributing US$ 5 million for the operationalization of the AU Commission’s Coordination Mechanism, while Germany, for its part, is considering contributing more than €2 million pledged last year.

AfDB Publishes Infrastructure Action Plan for Zimbabwe

The African Development (AfDB) Group’s effort in Zimbabwe’s economic recovery has received a major boost with the publication of a comprehensive infrastructure development action-plan for strong and sustained growth in the country. The 342-page report titled “Infrastructure and Growth in Zimbabwe - An Action Plan for Sustained Strong Growth” has been endorsed by an informal AfDB Board.
