La BAD confirme sa position de premier bailleur de fonds au Maroc - Cérémonie de signature de trois accords BAD - Maroc portant sur 533 millions d’euros

La Banque africaine de développement (BAD) et le Maroc ont signé, le 19 décembre à Rabat, trois accords de prêt et de garantie ainsi qu’un accord de don pour un montant global de près de 7 milliards de dirhams, soit l’équivalent de 533 millions d’euros. Les cosignataires étaient la représentante résidente de la Banque, Mme Amani Abou-Zeid et le Ministre de l’Economie et des Finances du Maroc, M. Nizar Baraka. La cérémonie s’est déroulée en présence du Directeur général de l’Office national de l’électricité et de l’eau potable (ONEE), M. Ali Fassi Fihri.

African Development Bank Supporting Rural Enterprises in Ghana

The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank approved two AFD financial support loans and grants amounting USD 76,5 million  to the Ghana – Rural Enterprises Programme III (REPIII).

The ADF loan and grant of USD 41.10 Million and 35.42 Million respectively, will enable Ghana Government to scale up the impact and outcome of  the earlier phases of the programme (REP I and II). They represent a response to Ghana’s Shared Growth and Development Agenda (GSGDA) with focus on  inclusive growth, youth employment, and women’s economic empowerment.

AfDB - Economic Community of Central African States Strengthening of Institutional Capacities

The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank Group approved an ADF project in the amount of USD 10,744 million for the support project to the institutional capacity building of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS).  

The project’s object is to promote regional integration in Africa through institutional, human and operational capacity building, the implementation of region-wide programmes and harmonization of sectoral policies.  

The AfDB Approves a USD 3 million Loan for Comoros To Support the Energy Sector and Financial Governance

The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) granted, on December 19th 2012, a loan in the amount of USD 3 million to Comoros to support the energy sector reforms, particularly, the electricity sub-sector and financial governance.  

The programme will help to create the conditions for an inclusive and sustainable growth through the development of the energy sector, whose shortcomings are part of the major constraints to the diversification of the country’s economy, and thereby make way for a gradual change from a fragile situation .

Green and Inclusive Project to Benefit the Horn of Africa

The Board of Directors of the African Development Group has approved US $125 million in funding for the first phase of a drought resilience project and provision of long-lasting means of subsistence to populations in the Horn of Africa.   

Three countries, Djibouti, Ethiopia and Kenya, as well as the Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development are involved in the first phase of this regional project funded by way of loans and grants provided by the African Development Fund (ADF) beginning in 2013.
