AfDB, Partners Promote Infrastructure Development at AU Summit
A major multi-stakeholder initiative is paving the way to improved infrastructure in Africa. Officially launched on 24 July 2010 in Kampala, Uganda, on the sidelines of the 16th African Union heads of state and government summit, the Program for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA) has entered the preparation phase.
President Kaberuka receives Ivorian footballer and humanitarian Didier Drogba to discuss partnership to tackle Ebola crisis
African Development Bank Group President Donald Kaberuka met with Didier Drogba, Ivorian footballer and humanitarian, at the AfDB headquarters in Abidjan on Friday, November 14 to discuss ways to tackle the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.
In their private meeting, Kaberuka and Drogba discussed a partnership between the AfDB and the Didier Drogba Foundation in an effort to respond to Ebola, a health crisis that according to the World Health Organization has infected more than 14,098 people since March 2014, resulting in 5,160 deaths.

African Water Facility helps build resilience to climate change for millions of pastoralists in Somalia
The African Water Facility (AWF) announced on Wednesday, November 19 that it has offered a €3-million grant to the Republic of Somalia to support a project designed to build resilience to climate change and reduce water stress in Somaliland. The project is expected to improve the management of water resources and attract investments to build water infrastructure and improve water services.
