AfDB invests in Women-owned SMEs in Africa through Alitheia Identity Fund (AIF)

The Bank Group’s (AfDB) Board of Directors, met on December 17, 2015 in Abidjan, and approved USD 12.5 million equity investment in Alitheia Identity Fund (AIF or the Fund).

AIF is a Private Equity Fund managed by Alitheia Identity Managers (AIM), a joint venture between two established women-owned fund management companies - Alitheia Capital Limited (Alitheia) of Nigeria, and Identity Development Fund Managers (IDF) of South Africa.

The Bank Group approves second phase of Uganda Markets and Agricultural Trade Improvement Program

The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank Group, during its ordinary sitting on Tuesday December 10, 2014 in Abidjan, approved the second phase of Uganda’s Markets and Agricultural Trade Improvement Program (MATIP 2), aimed to reconstruct an additional 11 of the remaining 14 markets in four regions in the country.

AfDB, Egypt ink US $500-million loan agreement to support the country’s ongoing reforms

The African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Government of Egypt have signed on Thursday, December 17 a loan agreement of US $500 million aimed at supporting the Government’s ongoing bold economic reform program and sustaining strong economic growth.

The loan agreement was signed in Cairo by the Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation, Sahar Nasr, and the AfDB Vice-President for Agriculture, Water, Human Development, Governance and Natural Resources, Aly Abou-Sabaa, in the presence of the Prime Minister of Egypt, Sherif Ismail.

Mauritanie : 24 millions $ de dons de la BAD pour la sécurité alimentaire, la gouvernance et l’emploi des jeunes

La Banque africaine de développement (BAD) et le gouvernement mauritanien ont signé, ce 11 décembre 2014 à Abidjan, trois accords de don totalisant plus de 24 millions de dollars EU.

Ces dons, destinés à favoriser une croissance inclusive dans le pays, financeront la composante mauritanienne du Programme de renforcement de la résilience à l’insécurité alimentaire et nutritionnelle au Sahel, ainsi que le Projet d’appui à la gouvernance pour la promotion d’une croissance inclusive et le Projet d’appui à la formation et l’emploi des jeunes dans le pays.
