AfDB supports small-scale irrigation in Kenya’s rural communities

In its bid to bolster Africa’s ability to feed itself, the African Development Bank (AfDB) is targeting rural communities with interventions to improve yields, incomes and nutrition practices.

The AfDB Board of Directors met on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 in Abidjan and approved a US $39.55-million loan and a US $24-million grant from the Global Agriculture and Food Security Program (GAFSP) to Kenya to finance the Small Scale Irrigation and Value Addition Project (SIVAP).

AfDB Approves Ghana’s Public Financial Management and Private Sector Competitiveness Support Program

The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank on Wednesday, 18 November 2015 approved a US$ 56.2-million African Development Fund loan to support Ghana’s Public Financial Management and Private Sector Competitiveness Program. This general budget support operation is the first in a two-year programmatic series of US$ 100 million that will be implemented in 2015 and 2016.

Deputies welcome progress in implementing the 13th replenishment of African Development Fund

The work under African Development Fund’s 13th replenishment (ADF-13) is on track and on target: this was the collective message when ADF Deputies and AfDB Group Senior Management convened in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire from November 11 to 13, 2015 to review its progress half-way through its implementation. They were joined at this Mid-Term Review by representatives from Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana and Malawi – all ADF-eligible borrowing countries – as well as observers from other International Financial Institutions such as the World Bank and Asian Development Bank.

La BAD va débloquer 183 millions d’euros à la Tunisie, en contribution à la création de richesse

Le Conseil d’administration du Groupe de la BAD a approuvé, un prêt de 183 millions d’euros à la Tunisie, pour contribuer à réduire les disparités régionales, et une baisse du taux de chômage et à améliorer le taux d’emploi des jeunes diplômés, dans le cadre du Programme d’appui au développement régional et à la création d’emploi (PADRCE). C’était lors de sa réunion ordinaire, mercredi 18 novembre 2015 à Abidjan, présidée par le vice-président et COO, Emmanuel Mbi.
