Benin, Côte d’Ivoire and Ethiopia to benefit from African Trade Insurance (ATI) Membership Programme
The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group has approved a combined US $30 million soft loan to Benin, Côte d'Ivoire and Ethiopia to be utilized for membership subscriptions in the African Trade Insurance Agency (ATI). This is a critical step and a prerequisite for ATI to commence its operations within these countries. Under the approvals, Benin and Ethiopia will each receive US $7.50 million, whilst Côte d'Ivoire will receive US $15.0 million.
AfDB approves Rural Youth Enterprise Project for Food Security in Madagascar
The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) has approved two loans amounting to US $24.55 million for Madagascar to help reduce the country's food insecurity and fragility.
The Mid-West Rural Youth Enterprises Project (PROJERMO), located in the Bongolava and Amoron'i Mania regions involves the establishment of enterprises in areas of activity and occupations linked to the production, processing, and marketing of agricultural products, as well as to the development and maintenance of irrigation infrastructure.
