AfDB President Akinwumi Adesina to visit Nigeria to strengthen partnership with major shareholders
Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), will visit Nigeria from September 26–28, 2016, on his first official visit to the country since his appointment last year. Adesina will meet policy-makers, the private sector, and development partners to discuss the challenges facing Nigeria and highlight the AfDB’s commitment to further strengthen its partnership with Nigeria.

The Boards of Directors of the African Development Bank Group approved on September 6, 2017 the recommendations of the Second Monitoring Report of the Independent Review Mechanism (IRM) on the Implementation of the Updated Management Action Plan for the Medupi Power Project in South Africa.
AfDB President Adesina calls for bold action to Light up and power Africa
African Development Bank President Akinwumi Adesina called for bold action Tuesday to light up Africa within the next ten years. “Ten years is the timeframe. We need to take Africa out of the darkness. Period,” Adesina told a panel discussion in New York.
NEPAD Regional Integration and Trade Department to host key stakeholders’ coordination meeting on Abidjan-Lagos and other West African Corridors
NEPAD Regional Integration and Trade Department has convened a two-day meeting on September 27-28, at the African Development Bank (AfDB) headquarters in Abidjan, with development partners, the NEPAD Planning and Coordination Agency (NPCA), the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), government officials and representatives of customs and revenue authorities to discuss a more coordinated approach to the management of West African corridors.
