AfDB pledges US $540 million in support of Chad, making it one of the largest donors at Paris roundtable
The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group will provide US $540 million for Chad's new National Development Plan (NDP). The Bank also offered Chad the possibility of raising additional financing through its private-sector window for commercially viable private sector projects or public-private partnerships. The Bank will help strengthen Chad’s institutional capacity and the development of bankable projects.

As World Breastfeeding Week kicks off this year, the African Development Bank calls on African countries to push breastfeeding as a means to give children a vital head start to their future wellbeing.
“A prosperous and well-nourished Africa that protects, promotes and supports breastfeeding during the first 1,000 days of a child’s life will provide potential for children in Africa to grow, learn and earn in the future,” said Oley Dibba-Wadda, Bank’s Director of Human Capital, Youth and Skills Department.
AfDB and Guinea sign key financing agreements to boost Simandou project and improve public finance system
The African Development Bank Group and Guinea have signed in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire on 19 July 2016 a series of loan and agreements totaling USD 23 million for two key projects aimed at improving economic and financial governance and building the government technical capacities required for implementation and supervision of the Simandou Project and other large mining projects under development in the country.
