An Inclusive Business Workshop to Take Place in Nairobi on 29-30 October 2013
A workshop on “Private Investment and Job Creation” will take place in Nairobi, Kenya on 29-30 October 2013. The meeting, which is organized in the framework of the G20 Inclusive Business Workshop series, will offer a unique opportunity to exchange, network and contribute to the development of a supportive ecosystem for inclusive businesses in Africa. It will particularly explore the potential of inclusive businesses for the sustainable development of the African continent.
The G20 Inclusive Business Workshop series is an international business-to-business forum where businesses, investors, representatives of development agencies and governments meet with the winners of the G20 Challenge on Inclusive Business Innovation. These winners are 15 outstanding businesses that offer innovative, scalable and financially sustainable ways of working with low-income segments of the population in developing and emerging countries.
The aim of the gathering is to foster the spread of inclusive businesses through showcasing successful examples, developing solutions to their growth challenges, and encouraging new business relationships. After the kick-off event in Berlin in September 2012, two regional workshops took place in Asia and Latin America in 2013. The Nairobi meeting will conclude the workshop series and further strengthen the inclusive business community in on the continent.
The forum partners are the United Arab Emirates, the African Development Bank, the Siemens Stiftung (Foundation) and the United Nations Development Programme - African Facility for Inclusive Markets (UNDP- AFIM).
